Your temporary guide to all things genocide

Hello! I'm Martha, and I'm going to be your temporary guide while your regular Stop Genocide blogger-extraordinaire Michelle is off traveling in exotic locales. I'm excited for this opportunity, but I'm going to Sarajevo Rose need your help. I hope that you will share articles and blog posts of interest to you, so I can focus on issues of interest to this community. I also hope you'll share your stories - why do you follow this blog? What got you involved in fighting genocide?

To start, I'll tell you a little bit about me. I got involved in these issues as a founder of the student movement for Darfur, and have been working on Darfur and genocide studies for the past four years. Most recently I directed Team Darfur, a coalition of athletes working to raise awareness about Darfur, and I am currently working on that and on issues of justice and accountability in Sudan.

During our time together, though, I hope to touch on other issues around genocide prevention and genocide studies. The lasting effects of genocide and conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for instance, are of personal interest to me (see photo above of a "Sarajevo Rose" - a mortar impact). And, like I said, I'd like to explore with you all what get people interested and involved in this work. So, I will leave you all to your Friday evenings, and we'll pick up our conversation tomorrow!
