November 3, 2009, Congressman Dennis Kucinich addresses H.RES. 867 on the House Floor. H.RES. 867 condemns the UN Goldstone Gaza Fact Finding Mission Report.

Congressman Kucinich stated:

"Today we journey from Operation Cast Lead to Operation Cast Doubt. Almost as serious as committing war crimes is covering up war crimes, pretending that war crimes were never committed and did not exist."

"Because behind every such deception is the nullification of humanity, the destruction of human dignity, the annihilation of the human spirit, the triumph of Orwellian thinking, the eternal prison of the dark heart of the totalitarian."

"The resolution before us today, which would reject all attempts of the Goldstone Report to fix responsibility of all parties to war crimes, including both Hamas and Israel, may as well be called the "Down is Up, Night is Day, Wrong is Right: resolution."

"Because if this Congress votes to condemn a report it has not read, concerning events it has totally ignored, about violations of law of which it is unaware, it will have brought shame to this great institution."

"How can we ever expect there to be peace in the Middle East if we tacitly approve of violations of international law and international human rights, if we look the other way, or if we close our eyes to the heartbreak of people on both sides by white-washing a legitimate investigation?"

"How can we protect the people of Israel from existential threats if we hold no concern for the protection of the Palestinians, for their physical security, their right to land, their right to their own homes, their right to water, their right to sustenance, their right to freedom of movement, their right to human security of jobs, education and health care?".

"We will have peace only when the plight of both Palestinians and Israelis is brought before this House and given equal consideration in recognition of that principle that all people on this planet have a right to survive and thrive, and it is our responsibility, our duty to see that no individual, no group, no people are barred from this humble human claim."

This report deserves more than summary dismissal.  Its rejection by the United States would show to the world that we do not wish to examine in an open forum the question of whether war crimes have been committed.  From such sources as Israeli soldiers, reports have come to light that innocent Palestinians, many of them carrying white flags, were ruthlessly shot down by members of the Israeli Defense Force.  What HR 867 calls for, however, is an off-handed dismissal of the entire question.  Such a response, especially from our nation, which recently promoted the execution of Saddam Hussein on charges of violations of human rights, would severely damage the United States in the eyes of every thoughtful and responsible citizen of the world.

Good Day to you, and thanx for all you do and don't, All. Alan, You have great pledge there; excellent work. It's also important to keep in mind that no one could do what they do without those that inspire us like you.

Anyone who heard NetsenYahoo, in a speech by him to the U.N. General Assembly, demean, attempt to dominate, abuse all the world, with his scathing attack of Mr. Goldstone's fair investigation results of both Israel and Hamas, Mr. Goldstone himself ( a person of Jewish decent and a self-proclaimed Zionist ), The U.N.'s Human Rights Council, and the U.N. as an organization, and each individual in it, would, not only be appalled, they would be absolutely certain that the reasons why the Israeli Gov't refused to give meaningful cooperation to his investigation is that the Israeli Gov't was absolutely clear that the level of war crime and atrocity against humanity committed by their Gov't and military were astronomically more than Hamas, with all things considered; and it was, and is self-evident. A line of his sums up their actual position, as it is, was, and, probably, always will be, contrary to their historically stated, ad nauseum, policy of a desired "two-state solution" and “peace“, and I quote, "...either you're on the terrorist's side, or democracy's (ours), and everyone must choice..."; which is exactly what emperor georgie said before, during, and after he ordered the USA Gov't to falsify and fabricate intelligence, reports, assessments of Mr. Hussein, the Iraqi Gov't, their having weapons of mass destruction ( which, even though the USA sold him such weapons for decades, he got rid of, as part of the first Iraqi war's ending armistice agreement ), their scientific and militaries capacities, etc., in his run-up to dictating the USA Gov‘ts unnecessary, and “illegal“, according to Kofi Annan, the former Secretary General of the U.N., war with Iraq, which continues to this day. So, for the Israeli Gov't, it's divide and conquer the world, to gain their Machiavellian end, the destruction of Palestine, first, Iran, second, probably, and who knows how many other Middle Eastern, and/or Islamic countries, third, and on; while constantly asserting their permanent "victim-hood" and supposed unwavering desires for "peace", etc.. Adding continuous insult to injury, of the world, by the Israeli Gov't, wouldn't come close to describing the imperial false-ego of their renegade nation's Gov't's words and actions; when will the reality in front of the world's nose be acted upon, and the U.N. hold to its solemn duty, by condemning Israel's omissions, absentia, and actions- their determined program of refusing to allow peace between them and Palestine? It has fueled a global movement of reaction that could easily dictate the extinction of humanity and large mammals, alone, itself, if you let it, so, don't you let it :)

As you know, all we can do is provide a wisp, gleam, glimmer, gleaning of what was, is, and could be, a candle's light within us that resonates with another's; our self-actuation allowing another's- a note in a wondrous universal symphony, cacophony, to which we all are invited to play, sing, dance.
